Daniel Esguevillas holds a Ph.D. from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, where he graduated in Architecture, and an MBA in Digital Innovation from EOI Business School.
Spanish accredited lecturer by ANECA, he is Associate Professor of Architecture and Urban Management, and Head of the Ph.D. Program, Research and Innovation in the School of Architecture at Camilo José Cela University (UCJC) in Madrid.
He is also the leader of the Research Team on Urban Habitat and its research project Urban Replay, awarded at the 13th Spanish Architecture and Urbanism Biennial (BEAU), and an investigator in H2020 Smart Cities and Communities projects.
An international researcher, his work has been awarded at the Arquia/Tesis competition, and shortlisted for the FAD Awards for Thought and Criticism, the 10th Ibero-American Architecture and Urbanism Biennial (BIAU) and the Arquia/Próxima Biennial of young Spanish Architects.
Former Erasmus Scholar at the Sapienza University of Rome, he has conducted part of his research at American universities like the Columbia University GSAPP in New York or the University of Buenos Aires, where he has earned twice a JPI Santander Research Fellowship. Invited lecturer to European universities as the Free University of Brussels or ENSAL Lyon.
He is the editor of books like This Is Tomorrow or Urban Strategies for Social and Spatial Reformulation. Previously he has been a Project Manager in international urban design projects.
